Vitamix Recipes

These Vitamix recipes are my favorites from the blog so far. They could likely be made in any high-performance blender, but I have a Vitamix, so that’s what I use. A run-of-the-mill blender may be able to make some of these recipes, but the results will likely not be as smooth, and the thicker recipes could burn out the motor.

I tend to favor recipes that have simple ingredients, are easy to prepare, taste great, and are relatively healthy. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

If you have a favorite recipe that’s not on this list, please send it in. Happy blending!

  1. I make homemade raw applesauce with apples, pears, strawberries, organic lemon juice, and cinnamon. I just de-seed the apples and pears, leave the skin on. You can just use apples.

    • To make almond flour you blend raw almonds. For a more delicate flour, you use almonds with the skins removed. You can buy blanched skinless almonds. Or you can soak or boil, then remove the skins yourself; if you do this, you need to dehydrate the almonds before blending. I recommend doing 1–2 cups at a time.

The dry container will work slightly better than the wet container, but either will do the job.

  2. Spicy Tomato/Red Pepper Soup

    Ingredients:
3 Roasted Red Peppers (from a jar)
    1/4 cup of Olive Oil
1 Can of Tomato Soup (10 oz)
1/2 Can of water (5 oz)
Half of a medium onion (slightly chopped)
    3-4 small garlic cloves (unpeeled)
    1/2 Tbsp Sriracha
    1/2 – 2/3 cup of unsalted cashews

I have a 6300 Vitamix (Hot Soups preset). Place all ingredients in the Vitamix, set to Hot Soups, and hit Start. The unit shuts off by itself. Serve with crusty bread (vegans) or diced hotdogs/chicken (non-vegans)

  3. I would like to purchase your Vitamix book. I saw it at a demonstration and the man said i could get one at your website.

  4. Are the carafe’s interchangeable on the Vitamix. I have the Vitamix Creation and I bought it used. I’d like to purchase an additional carafe and a plunger if available. I assume that the plunger has to shorter shaft because the carafe I have is only 48 oz. and seems short compared to the others I see. DEB

    • Some are interchangeable, and some are not. Your machine can use these containers. (Vitamix warns not to use the wide 64-oz container on your model, but I think their warning is unfounded.)

There are three different Vitamix tampers. Depending on which container you get, you may need a different tamper.

  5. Been a vitamixer for a couple of years now andkeep an eye out for?qvc? tv show to see if there is any new recipes. The one in after is the sorbet they did. it didnt give any portion but it had alot more ingredients than my book does. It was starwberry blue berry but had cloves and ginger etc. Does anyone have it ? Thank you in advance

    • I found the QVC video. They made a version of this spiced berry sorbet. On QVC I believe they skipped the blackberries, and it looked like they may have used some sort of juice instead of just water. (I would modify the instructions slightly: I would not worry about partially thawing the frozen berries, and ignore the ice cubes in the directions.)

  6. Chicken liver pate ?????

Should be the smoooothest ever .

Most recipes should work ….this is a

terrific blender but “ the devil is in the details

    • I’ve never made it, but my understanding is that to make apple butter you cook the apples on low heat for many hours. Vitamix machines are not really meant to be run for more than 10 minutes or so. And the soup setting is more of a “heat to ~140–180°F” than an actual cook at a simmer. If you cook the apples first, you could of course then puree them in a Vitamix to a super-smooth consistency.

    • As far as I know, pie crust is not a great use for a Vitamix unless you have the food processor attachment, which is not compatible with your model. Crushing graham crackers for a graham cracker crust would work great though.
