- This is likely the last week of the reconditioned Vitamix 5200 and 6300 sale. I’ve heard the sale expires at the end of June. If you know anyone who wants a Vitamix, this is the best deal I’ve ever seen. [7/1/14: additional discount expired; however, reconditioned machines are still a good deal.] (Details on the high quality of reconditioned Vitamix blenders)
- The $50 QVC dry container deal is back again. [7/1/14: expired]
- California cherry season is ending, but yesterday I managed to find an amazing bargain by going to a farmers market near closing time. I bought a bunch to pit and freeze, and I look forward to many cherry almond vanilla smoothies. If you missed California cherries, Northwest cherries will be available for the next two months.
- You may have noticed that I added a list of links to recipes by ingredient towards the bottom of the blog’s right sidebar. I hope it makes recipe browsing easier and more fun.

The index by ingredient is awesome! Thanks for compiling it.
Any idea when another sale might be, or how often, or how many times a year they have a sale on Reconditioned stuff? Seems I missed out on the June sale.
Hoping I can get a Reconditioned Standard with a 48oz container, and perhaps for $299 instead of $329. I make really thick all frozen (including the container) fruit shakes, and think a narrow 48oz might be best for making small ~2 cup servings.
I have no idea if there will be another sale. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is one sometime in the next 6 months, but we can’t count on it.
Unfortunately the 48-oz container is not currently available on reconditioned machines. I’m not sure if it will become available. If you want a machine with the 48-oz container at the cheapest price, your best bet is to either go with the 48-oz Creations model, or to buy a reconditioned standard plus a 48-oz container, and then sell the tall 64-oz container on eBay or Craigslist.
