Today is an exciting day in Vitamix land, and I have three things to share with you.
1. New Product
Vitamix just released a “smart” scale called the Perfect Blend, and I am about to post a review of it.
2. Kale Smoothie
In creating that review I wrote up a recipe for a kale smoothie. For those who don’t feel like reading the review, here’s the recipe.
It follows a concept that I wrote about a while back, that lime and ginger work well to cut the bitterness of things like kale. Since it’s been a long time, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to rehash it, and this one is a little different. Plus it comes with nutrition facts generated by the app! (They’re below, at the end of this post.)
Ingredients
1 cup Water – 8 fl oz
1½ Tbsp Lime Juice (from half a lime)
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
5 US-quarter-coin-slices of Ginger (9g)
4 leaves Kale (70g)
1 small Apple (120g, quartered and cored)
1 cup Frozen Mango Pieces (120g)
3. Certified Reconditioned G-Series Price Drop
Vitamix just dropped the price on the Certified Reconditioned G-Series models. The Certified Reconditioned Next Generation (aka 7500) is now $399. The last time Vitamix listed this model at this price, they repeatedly went out of stock. And the Certified Reconditioned Next Generation Programs (aka Pro 750) is $499. It has never been priced this low! I’m always a big proponent of the value of Certified Reconditioned Vitamix machines, but even more so after price drops. I hope this helps you or someone you know over the hurdle of getting an awesome Vitamix!
